AUDITIONS!
Our next two shows will be Lend Me a Tenor to be directed by Jean Freer and I Do! I Do! to be directed by Kristin Adair.
Lend Me a Tenor is a lovely farce about mistaken identity and impersonation (aren't they all?) and has a cast of 4 men and 4 women of varying ages. Two of the men need to be able to sing quite well since the tenor in the title is an opera singer. The season runs from 14 October.
Since Jean is away until just before auditions anyone wanting a to look at a script should contact Benjamin Thorn on 6772 5889.
I Do! I Do! is a two hander romantic musical that charts 50 years of a marriage. Two strong singers need to be able to dance and age from 20s to 60s on stage. Anyone interested must obtain copies of the music before auditioning from Kristin on 6771 4077. Season runs from 18 November.
Since there is an overlap in potential cast members (and rehearsals) auditions will be run together and you will only need to audition once for either or both shows.
Auditions will be on Sunday 25 July at the playhouse from 2pm (if you are only interested in I Do! I Do! come at 3:30pm) and Monday 26 July at 7pm (if only interested in Lend Me a Tenor come at 7:30).
Next Meeting
The next meeting of the committee to which everyone is welcome will be on Monday 2 August at the Playhouse at 7:30pm. Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month.
